Chandigarh, 15th October, 2023: Thrill Zone, an organization dedicated to promoting running as a legitimate sport, is set to host the Punjab Half Marathon on October 29. The event aims to raise awareness about the ongoing issue of drug abuse in society through the “Run Against Drug Abuse” initiative.
This bi-annual marathon will commence at 5:30 a.m. from Chandigarh Club, Sector 1. Participants can choose from three timed run categories: 21 km (half-marathon), 10 km, and 5 km, along with a 3 km fun run.
PC Kushwaha, Founder of Thrill Zone, expressed, “Thrill Zone is committed to fostering a running culture and promoting healthy living. With over 100 events to its credit, including half marathons across India, Thrill Zone’s efforts span the entire nation.”
The 21 km run is open to both males and females, with various age groups: 18 to 30 years, 31 to 40 years, 41 to 50 years, 51 to 60 years, 61 to 70 years, and 71+ years.
In the 10 KM run, participants can compete in various age categories, which include Under 18 Years, 19 to 40 Years, 41 to 50 Years, and 51+ Years. For the 5 KM Timed Run, the top 3 male and top 3 female runners will be recognized, and this category is open to all.
The cut-off timings for all distances are as follows:
- 21 KM (Timed Run) – 3 hours and 30 minutes
- 10 KM (Timed Run) – 1 hour and 30 minutes
- 5 KM (Timed Run) – 45 minutes
Every participant will receive a t-shirt, a medal, a participation certificate, and refreshments as part of their race experience.
