-Over 100 golfers to participate, women golfers will also be seen in action
Panchkula, November 29, 2024: The Amateur Golfers Society (AGS) a non-governmental organisation(NGO) is all set to organise the 6th edition of its prestigious golf tournament for amateurs– The Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Panchkula Golf Club. The tournament will kick off at 7:30 am, with an impressive participation of 110 amateur golfers, all set to compete in an environment that blends skill, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Many amateur women golfers are also slated to take part.
Notably, this tournament is being organized under the stewardship of Advocate (High Court) Mr. Suresh K. Gupta, Founder Trustee of the Amateur Golfers Society, whose dedication to promoting the sport has been instrumental in creating such platforms. Suresh K. Gupta said, “The AGS is committed to fostering a love for golf and providing a platform for enthusiasts to come together and share their passion. Each tournament brings us closer as a community, while also encouraging the growth of amateur golf in not just India’s Northern region but also across the country.”
The event will be graced by Mr. Anurag Rastogi (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Finance), Government of Haryana, as the Chief Guest, adding significance to the occasion. The Guests of Honour for the tournament are Mr. Suresh Chandel, former Member of Parliament from Himachal Pradesh, and Mr. Sanjeev Goyal (IAAS), Director General Audit (Defence Accounts), Chandigarh.
This tourney will mark the 6th tournament organized by AGS, following the success of the 5th edition held on September 29, 2024, which featured Justice Virender Singh, former Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, as the Chief Guest, and renowned Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor as the Guest of Honour.
The AGS tournament continues to uphold its legacy as a premier event for amateur golfers. With its meticulously planned tournaments and distinguished guests, AGS is making strides in enriching the golfing culture in India.
It is pertinent to mention that the winners will get Amateur Golfers Society trophies. Winners in different categories of handicap will get special prizes. All the participants will be given a goodie pack and participation score card.
