-Bhatinda: While criticizing AAP for its failure to address the plight of farmers, BJP candidate from Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency, Parampal Kaur Sidhu Maluka said here on Tuesday that the repeated destruction of cotton crops in Punjab is pushing farmers on the verge of suicide.
Due to the destruction of crops, land prices are also continuously decreasing, but AAP candidate from Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency and Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian has not taken any steps to compensate the farmers.
“He couldn’t even make advanced seeds available to farmers in his own constituency. This is why people are vehemently opposing him everywhere during his election campaigns.”
Parampal also targeted Akali Dal candidate Harsimrat Kaur for her failure in putting Bathinda on the development path.
She said that the condition of the meritorious sports schools established during the Akali Dal government is deteriorating. These schools lacked permanent teachers and were being run with the help of temporary teachers.
She further said that the teachers were struggling for regularization for a long time, but neither the Akali Dal government nor the current AAP government is concerned about their plight. Ironically during the tenure of the AAP government, these teachers have not even received their salaries on time, which has jeopardized their livelihoods , she said.
