Chefs of Chandigarh – Tricity team up, come togethetr to take up a ‘Cause and this time they bring out a New Dish that is Punjabi Biryani.
A Press Conference cum Tasting Session was held at Chandigarh Press Club where a new version of Biryani : PUNJABI Biryani was launched. A Brainchild of Chef Harshbir Singh, Principal Consultant who teamed up with Chef Jagmeet Exe.Chef Raddisson Red and Chef Harshdeep Chanana Exe. Chef of Best Western Plus , is a novel addition : a typical Punjabi variation to this globally Acclaimed Rice & Meat Dish. Chef Harshbir told that a void was always felt for not having our own biryani irrespective of the fact that Punjabi Cuisine being otherwise popular worldover, and also no new dish or recipe was created in the last 4/5 decades henceforth they came up with the idea of adding a new version to biryani and thoght of bringing about our very own Punjabi biryani : to be fondly called CHANDIGARHI Biryani. Where the meat will primarily be cooked along with mustard greens (saag) , to be served with ‘Tashan’ in place of ‘Salan” and whichvwill be comprised of ‘Slurpp’ made of Salad- vegetables, achari paratha shots with ‘shakkar on top and dollops of white butter to top. The vegetarian variety will have Amritsari Vadiyan cooked with roasted Jacket Potatoes in same mustard greens based paste, along with Chholia and Amritsari Chhole ( garbenzo beans). Chef Harshbir told that what earlier was being served was none but veg. pulao and not biryani. All the three chefs hope that this new Punjabi Biryani will soon be a talk of town and will mesmerise the people in its novel taste. They told that many events to spearhead the ‘move will be organised along community participation in the different parts of the city and othet states. They are planning to shocase the same in upcoming World Food India event in Delhi in the 1st month of November.
Tiday’s event was organised with back support and under the ages of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation ‘ Five Rivers’.

Renowened city based Cookery Exoert, authior, columinist and Nutritionist Sarita Khurana too graced the occasion with het presence.
