-CPUJ: Chandigarh-Punjab Union of Journalists organized their annual Labor Day event at Sector 17 Plaza in Chandigarh on May 1, 2024. As usual, we gather to recall people who gave their lives fighting for workers’ rights. A group of journalists physically joined hands to strengthen our shared voice in change. CPUJ President Vinod Kohli delivered a crisp speech directed at meaningful reform. He called for renaming the Press Council as the Media Council due to its responsibilities to the electronic media. Since TV and Digital Journalists face severe problems to address them, Kohli demanded the local administration to implement a pension scheme for all writers, media staffers, freelancers kn stage, and desk.
