– 96 Amateur golfers including 8 women take part in tournament
Panchkula, December 22: Brig G.J. Singh emerged as the winner in the Handicap 0-9 category at the 7th Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament held at the Panchkula Golf Club (PGC) on Sunday. Showcasing exceptional skills on the golf course, Brig G J Singh clinched the top spot in Handicap 0-9 category with an impressive score of 73 in this prestigious tournament.
A total of 96 amateur golfers, including eight women, participated in the event, with golfers playing all 18 holes on the par-72 course.
In a stellar performance, Madhu Garg with a score of 96 was the winner; she also won the title of ‘straightest drive’. In the Handicap 17 and above category, Vinay K. Kalra claimed the Winner’s title with a score of 78 while Dr Anil Rattan secured the Runner-Up position with a score of 79. In the Handicap 10-16 category, Vivek Kumar emerged victorious with an impressive score of 75 while Dr R.K. Talwar finished as the Runner-Up with a score of 79. The winners were felicitated with trophies and gift hampers to honor their achievements.
The tournament was organised by the Amateur Golfers Society (AGS), a non-governmental organization (NGO) and Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak was the chief guest. Mr. Vijay Aggarwal and Mr. Naresh Nagpal were the Guests’ of Honour .
