In Sri Muktsar Sahib on January 16, 2024, the 108 Ambulance once again played a crucial role, this time in assisting a pregnant woman during a delivery on the way to the hospital. The expectant mother, being transported from Goniana Road to Sri Muktsar Sahib Civil Hospital, went into labor just moments before reaching her destination.
With the realization that time was of the essence, Ambulance EMT Eakamkar Singh skillfully provided the necessary medical support for the delivery. Pilot Deepak Sharma also played a vital role by ensuring a safe stop for the ambulance. The combined efforts of the woman and the medical team resulted in the successful birth of a new life. Following the delivery, both the mother and the newborn were swiftly transferred to the hospital for additional medical care.
Reflecting on the incident, Mr. Manish Batra, Project Head of 108 Ambulance, expressed pride in the training provided to their staff for handling diverse emergency situations, highlighting the importance of ensuring safe deliveries. He commended EMT Eakamkar Singh for his careful and commendable handling of the situation, emphasizing that their ambulances are well-equipped to provide necessary medical support for laboring women on the move.
EMT Eakamkar Singh shared his joy at the health of both the baby and the mother, emphasizing that it was his duty to assist the laboring mother in bringing a new life into the world without hesitation, especially when time was of the essence during the ambulance journey.
