Punjabi films icon Padamshri Nirmal Rishi, national awardee young sepanch Seshandeep Kaur Sidhu and High Court Advocate Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, urged youth and women to unitedly lead the society from the forefront, during panchayat elections, to “Save Punjab” from further decay.*
They were interacting with media at Chandigarh Press Club, from the “Lok-Ekta” platform here today.
Giving a roadmap, they appealed them not to lose the golden opportunity to elect upright and educated panches/serpanches uninamously on merit, next month during panchayat elections to save Punjab’s existence, its culture, resources and future generations.*
“Political factionalism has played havoc with rural folks’ life,” maintained ‘Lok Ekta Mission, a public initiative spearheaded by ‘Lok-Raj’ Punjab, that has got overwhelming response from prestigious public-spirited organizations and personalities.*
Convener of ‘Lok Ekta Mission’ Dr Manjit Singh Randhawa maintained, that with sinister “policy of divide and rule” inherited from “Colonial British-Rule,” dishonest political parties, in their vested interest, destroyed ages old exemplary peace, harmony and health of rural life.*
Two-party public divide in villages had degraded village status to that of beggers, while four party divide will be crippling and fatal for Rural-Punjab, speakers added.*
