Dr. Rupesh Kumar Singh, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Bihar Foundation (Punjab and Chandigarh Chapter), has a wealth of academic and professional experience. He holds an LLB, a Master’s in Arts, an MBA, and a Post Graduate Diploma in English Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. He is also a Silver Medalist from Panjab University in his Master’s program. His academic achievements have laid the foundation for a successful career that spans multiple sectors, including public relations, corporate affairs, and social initiatives.
Bihar Foundation and Social Advocacy
Dr. Singh’s leadership role as Chairman of the Bihar Foundation (Punjab & Chandigarh Chapter) has been instrumental in building stronger ties between the people of Bihar and the wider North Indian community. The Bihar Foundation is a key initiative of the Government of Bihar, aimed at promoting the social, cultural, and economic interests of the state. Under Dr. Singh’s leadership, the Foundation has launched several initiatives that focus on community empowerment, skill development, and welfare programs, benefiting countless individuals in the Punjab and Chandigarh regions.
Dr. Singh’s passion for social causes extends beyond the Foundation. He has been actively involved in projects designed to uplift underprivileged communities, especially youth and marginalized groups. Notably, Dr. Singh recently played a pivotal role in organizing a large-scale cricket tournament in Chandigarh aimed at raising awareness about drug abuse. The event, which involved over 3,700 participants between the ages of 14-18, broke records with 302 matches played. The tournament, recorded by the Asia Book of Records, was lauded for its success and its positive impact on the local community. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Singh received accolades from both the UTCA and the Chandigarh Government.
Leadership in Public Relations and Corporate Affairs
Dr. Singh’s career in public relations spans several prestigious organizations, including his tenure as Public Relations Officer with the Chandigarh Government, as well as positions at Walmart India and Bharti Group. His current role as Associate Vice President – Corporate Affairs for the Adani Group in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh further strengthens his influence in the corporate and PR sectors. Dr. Singh is recognized for his strategic thinking, leadership skills, and ability to connect with diverse communities, making him one of the most respected PR professionals in the region.
Promoting Sports, Media, and Inclusivity
Beyond his corporate and social endeavors, Dr. Singh is a fervent advocate for sports and inclusivity. He serves as Vice President of the Wakeboard & Water Ski Association of Punjab and Vice Chairman of the Beach Games Federation of India (North India), where he works to promote beach sports and water-related activities across the country. As Vice President of the World Ice Cricket Confederation, Dr. Singh has also been at the forefront of promoting emerging and unconventional sports, gaining international recognition for his efforts.
Dr. Singh has long been a champion for the LGBTQIA+ community, supporting initiatives like the LGBTI All Games Association of India, where he serves as India Coordinator. His inclusive approach extends to his role in advocating for sports for all, irrespective of gender or sexual orientation. He is also actively involved in various regional committees, including his role as Regional Convener for the Media, Sports, and Entertainment Committee of the PHDCCI, Punjab.
