-Chandigarh / Mohali, November 7 : The excitement continued to build on the second day of the 10th edition of the Sardar Bhagwant Singh Memorial Basketball Trophy, as teams across the Tricity showcased their skills and determination in a series of thrilling matches.
In the U-17 Boys category, the St. Peter’s Chandigarh team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Shishu Niketan School, Chandigarh, by a staggering 38-4 margin at the Indoor Basketball Court, GMADA Sports Complex in Mohali. Nakul emerged as the top scorer, contributing a game-high 14 points to lead his team to victory.
In another U-17 Boys encounter, St. Joseph’s School, Chandigarh, triumphed over St. Soldier, Panchkula, securing a 26-13 win. Nauneet was the top scorer for St. Joseph’s with an impressive 17 points, playing a key role in the team’s success.
The U-17 Girls category saw a strong performance from Vivek High School, Chandigarh, who outclassed Smart Wonders School, Mohali, with a 20-5 staggering margin. Ayesha and Japleen, representing the winning and losing teams respectively, each scored 4 points in a competitive but one-sided match.
In the U-14 Girls category, YPS, Mohali, delivered a dominant performance , overpowering St. Peter’s, Chandigarh with a 26-8 victory. Artharav was the standout player for St. Peter’s, scoring 8 points to claim the title of top scorer. In another exciting contest, Shemrock School, Mohali, triumphed over Saupin’s School, Chandigarh, with a 22-13 victory.
In the U-14 Boys category, Saupin’s School, Chandigarh, emerged victorious over DPS, Chandigarh, with a 20-10 win. Madhav was the top scorer from the winning team, contributing 15 points in the game.
The U-12 Boys category saw some tight and nerve-wracking action. St. Anne’s School, Chandigarh, defeated Saupin’s School, Chandigarh, by a 19-8 scoreline, with Samarbir leading the charge and scoring 11 points. In a closely contested match, Manav Rachna School, Mohali, narrowly edged out St. Peter’s Chandigarh, winning 14-13. Dev from Manav Rachna was the top scorer with 6 points.
In the U-12 Girls category, Sacred Heart School, Chandigarh, demonstrated their dominance with a convincing 17-4 victory over Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, continuing their strong run in the tournament.
