Chandigarh, June 4, 2023: Fortis Hospital Mohali made an extraordinary effort by organizing an exclusive movie screening of the film “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke,” featuring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, for nearly 150 cancer survivors and their families. The event, hosted at Elante Mall, aimed to commemorate National Cancer Survivors Day while bringing a sense of joy and inspiration to those who have triumphed over cancer.
Triumph Over Challenges and Inspiring Resilience
Expressing gratitude towards Fortis Mohali’s heartfelt gesture, a cancer survivor shared, “When I received my diagnosis, it was a life-altering moment for me. I went through a period of depression, but the medical team at Fortis Mohali treated me with utmost care, and I was able to overcome the disease.”
Another survivor expressed their thanks and said, “I am immensely grateful to Fortis Mohali for organizing this unique event, allowing people like me to experience a moment filled with laughter and joy. Such occasions help us momentarily forget our troubles. I had the opportunity to meet other cancer survivors, and together we shared our thoughts and experiences. This gathering has reinforced my determination to fight against this illness and raise awareness about it.”
Dr. Rajeev Bedi, Director of Medical Oncology at Fortis Cancer Institute Mohali, encouraged cancer survivors to reach out to others in the community by joining support groups like Saarthak. He emphasized the importance of such groups, stating, “A cancer diagnosis can be devastating, and patients often feel a sense of isolation and struggle to relate to others who haven’t experienced their challenges. Support groups provide a platform for survivors to express their emotions and connect with people who truly understand.”
