Iniya ,the subject of this write up, is one such promising actress who has been making waves ever since she hit the headlines following the successful release of “Vaagai Sooda Vaa” (Come, wear the crown of victory) in September 2011 as the leading lady opposite Vimal supported by Bhagyaraj & Ponvannan. The film directed by A.Sarkunam depicted the happenings of 1960s in a remote Tamil nadu village.The film was well received and won National Award. Iniya,too was honoured with The Tamil Nadu State Award for her performance.
Iniya started her career as a child artist debuting in 2004 Malayalam film “Rain Rain Come Again”.She made her Tamil debut with ” Padagasaalai “(2010),Kannada debut with ” Alone”( 2015) followed by another Telugu film “Leela”( 2016).
The actress received the media attention again with the release of ” Pottu” ( Bindiya) a horror comedy in 2019 starring Bharath as Arjun ,Iniya as pottu & Srushti as Nithya supported by Shakeela ,Urvashi & Nirosha.The film revolves round two MBBS students .Arjun secures the first rank fraudulently, but Nithya, despite being a brilliant student, ends up holding the second rank. Things take a sudden twist when Arjun fails to do well at the college & commits suicide. His lood spills on a tomb of Pottu ( Iniya) and a mysterious power enters his body forcing him to behave like a girl. The movie was released on 8 March 2019, in Tamil as Pottu , in Telugu as Bottu, and in Hindi as Bindi.
“Indrudu” (2014),”Girls”( 2016 ) & “Akasha Mittayi” (2017) are her other mentionable Malyalam films.
