The Students of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School celebrated the Red Letter Day in the history of India, Independence Day Eve with fervour and enthusiasm in the campus. The students came all dressed in tricolour to express their patriotic feelings. Tricolour badges were put on the Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, School Co-ordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovation & Research and Mrs. Nita Malik, Head of Political Science Department.
True to the theme of this year’s celebration ,”Nation First , Always first” , the patriotic movie was shown to them. Students were also given a detailed lecture on how India gained its freedom. The lecture was followed by an interactive discussion on- ‘What do you mean by Independence’ and ‘How the students felt the day should be celebrated’ Vibhuti, student of SSC II opined that Independence Day celebrations should not be limited to just one day, rather each day of the year should be celebrated in the light of patriotism.
The discussion was taken forward by other students who felt that we must respect out national emblems and make every possible effort to lead the country towards the path of progress and development.
Continuing with the celebration, Department of Political Science and History displayed the posters depicting the patriotic fervour and Slogan writing posters. The celebration ended with their Photograph and singing of patriotic songs.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the organising team for celebrating nationalistic feelings and appreciated the artistic and creative aspect of the students. Mrs. Meenakshi Syal conveyed that these events are fruitful in instilling the feeling of national integration among the students .
