The Institution Innovation Council and PG Mass Communication & Video Production Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Factshala, India Media Literacy Network Workshop. The Resource Person of the workshop was Prof. Umesh Arya, Chairman, Department of Communication Management and Technology, Guru Jambeshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Haryana. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that it is very difficult to control the flow of information these days as many channels or medium are available. The people should be concerned towards information so that they can get & use authentic information. Prof. Umesh Arya said that in present times of Pandemic, the awareness towards information has increased manifold media literacy is gaining more and more importance these days. We can receive news and information within seconds. Today is the era of citizen journalism, where everyone is a journalist. We should be able to differentiate between facts & fiction. He said that Media Literacy is the ability to understand the different types of media & the message. Incharge IIC, HMV Dr. Anjana Bhatia said that the PG Department of MCVP of HMV has taken the responsibility of helping students. The workshop was attended by all the faculty members of MCVP Department, members IIC and the students. Moderator of the workshop was Dr. Simmi and Mrs. Jyoti Sehgal presented vote of thanks.
