In a pioneering event on the 14th of February 2024, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a distinguished Fortune 500 Maharatna Energy Conglomerate in India, partnered with Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) to propel green energy initiatives forward. This forward-thinking collaboration leverages BPCL’s technological expertise to inaugurate India’s inaugural Integrated Green Hydrogen Plant and refueling station within an airport milieu. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) delineates plans for a 1,000 KW project at Kochi Airport, slated for completion by 2025. The MOU signing ceremony unfolded at the Legislative Complex in Thiruvananthapuram, graced by the esteemed presence of Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala and Chairman of CIAL, alongside Shri P. Rajeeve, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Dr. V. Venu IAS, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Kerala, Shri G. Krishnakumar, Chairman & Managing Director, BPCL, and other senior officials from both BPCL and CIAL.
