Chandigarh: The annual function of Maharshi Dayanand Public School, Daria, has been concluded in the auditorium of Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna Bhawan, Sector 29. The program started with lighting of the lamp and Gayatri Mantra by NRI Sudarshan Garg. Chandigarh‘s Mayor Sarabjit Kaur participated in this program as the chief guest. The program was presided over by Ravinder Talwar, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. NRI Sushma Malhotra from New York USA and KK Shardawere the special guests of honour. Prem Vij, President of Samvad Sahitya Manch was a special invitee. Area councilor Bimla Dubey, Anil Dubey, councilor Dharmendra Singh Saini, former sarpanch Gurpreet Singh Happy and social worker Amit Garg were present as guests of honour in the programme. Well-known poetess Seema Gupta conducted the programme. Mayor Sarabjit Kaur in her address said that students should manage time right from the beginning. They should do the right thing at the right time. Parents play a major role in the development of children. If the foundation of the children is firm then they will definitely be successful in life. Ravinder Talwar said that today students are more alert than before. In this era of competition, students have to pay attention to their health as well. During the programme, students dressed in colorful costumes presented a cultural programme. The presentation of Ganesh Vandana, Chance Pe Dance, Chhote-Mote, Bahubali, Karate, Ori Chiraiya, Sandeshe Aate Hai, Haryanvi Dance and Bhangra attracted a lot of applause in this program. School Principal Vinod Sharma read out the annual report. He welcomed all the dignitaries present in the programme. Meritorious students of the school were felicitated by the guests. Medals were presented to 160 students and mementos to 41 children in this programme. School’s Pattern NRI Sudarshan Garg expressed gratitude to all the people present in the program. On this occasion VPS Rao, Vishwa Arya Yuva Shakti founder Ashok Arya, Rajesh Sharma, Kalyan Bhainsoda, Babita Kalia, Prabha and many litterateurs, principals of different schools etc were also present.
