Pankaj Udhas ,the noted Ghazal singer,needs no introduction. Born 17 may 1951. His debut album was ‘Aahat'(1980) followed by a series of albums including Tarrannum (1982),Mehfil (1983) & Pankaj Udhas Live at Royal Albert Hall.Rendered his voice in many films including Yeh Dillagi ,Mohra, Main Khiladi Tu Anari ,Ghar Ki Izzat & Jai Vikraanta to mention few. His few Melodies Ghazals are Chithi Aayi Hai,Chandi Jaisa Rang Hai Tera,Na Kajre Ki Dhar, Hui mehngi bahut shraab, Ke thodi thodi piya karo.
Known to commoners as a singer who rendered “Chitthi Aayee Hai” number from film ‘Naam’ starring Sanjay Dutt. Rendered “Munne Ki Amma Yeh To Bata” with Kishore Kumar.Bestowed with Padma Shri,the singer breathed his last today after prolonged illness at Breach Candy,Mumbai.
