Chandigarh: Delhi Public School (DPS-40), Sector 40, Chandigarh, is gearing up to host a remarkable event that aims to ignite creativity and leadership among the future generation. ‘Samvidhi 5.0 – The Legal Conclave’ is all set to take place on August 25-26 within the school premises. This conclave stands as a beacon of collaborative learning and healthy competition, and its significance was unveiled during a curtain-raiser press conference attended by Ms. Reema Dewan, Principal of DPS-40, Ms. Sapna Nagpal, the school’s Headmistress, and Ms. Preeti Sharma, the Event In-Charge.
Empowering Student Talent Through Diverse Activities
Under the banner of ‘Samvidhi – The Legal Conclave,’ DPS-40 is not just hosting a Moot Court; it is orchestrating a multitude of activities that offer a platform for students to showcase their talents and refine their skills. This event goes beyond legal discourse and encompasses activities that stimulate intellectual growth and expression.
Ms. Reema Dewan expressed, “In 2019, we sowed the seeds of the Legal Conclave, and over time, it has flourished into a significant event. With four successful editions of ‘Samvidhi’ behind us, we are now on the brink of organizing the 5th edition. Our commitment to legal literacy has always been intertwined with human values and ethics. This conclave serves as a crucial medium to raise awareness about ‘legal issues’ among the participating students, while also affording them the opportunity to excel in debates and various other endeavors.”
A Fusion of Learning and Competition
Throughout its history, each edition of ‘Samvidhi’ has offered an array of activities such as Hasya Vyangya, AdMad, Legal Debate, and ‘The Newsroom.’ This year, building upon the foundation of previous successes, DPS-40 is introducing new components that include a moot court, a legal entrepreneurship session, a G20 summit simulation, quizzes, and other challenges designed to test and enhance the intellectual prowess of the students involved.
The event will be graced by a panel of distinguished experts who will judge and evaluate the participants. Eminent dignitaries are expected to be present at the opening ceremony and prize distribution. Ms. Preeti Sharma, the Event In-Charge, shared, “The preliminary rounds will unfold on Day 1, leading to more intense competitive rounds for the finalists on Day 2. The confluence will conclude with a harmonious musical gathering. The event anticipates enthusiastic participation from around 300 students hailing from schools in the tricity as well as from across India. Participation is open for students from classes IX to XII, catering to both registered school teams and individual contenders.”
A Platform for Networking and Exchange
Ms. Reema Dewan encapsulated the essence of the event, stating, “The dynamic convergence of The Legal Conclave once again promises an environment conducive to networking, idea exchange, and enlightenment. The conclave remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering constructive discussions through diverse learning avenues, thus reinforcing its dedication to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.”
