-Chandigarh, November 10, 2024: The “Punjab Vision: 2047” conclave, organized by the World Punjabi Organisation in association with the Punjab Development Commission and Panjab University will convene on 12-13 November at Panjab University, Chandigarh. The two-day event will gather government leaders, MPs, policymakers, and experts to outline a strategic vision for Punjab’s development by 2047, It will feature Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor Punjab who will address the conclave.
The organiser of the conclave MP Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “As Punjab stands at a crossroads, this conclave will serve as a platform to create actionable strategies for our state’s progress. Key topics include governance reforms, agricultural transformation, economic revival, industrial growth, and environmental sustainability.”
The inaugural session will feature Harpal Singh Cheema, Finance Minister, Shri Raghav Chadha, MP, Rajya Sabha, with Dr. Sahney setting the theme. Day one will address governance challenges, agrarian reforms, and industrial development, with sessions chaired by cabinet ministers like Dr. Balbir Singh, Baljit Kaur, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Tarunpreet Singh Sond etc. While senior government officials, including Shri KAP Sinha, Chief Secretary, Gaurav Yadav, DGP, Tejveer Singh, Ajoy Sinha etc. will participate as panellists along with Social Activists like Devinder Sharma, Ramesh Inder Singh and Industrialists like Amrit Sagar Mittal, Rajinder Gupta, PJ Singh etc.
Day two will delve into economic and workforce issues, such as tackling Punjab’s fiscal crisis and reversing the brain drain Environmental concerns etc. discussions will include Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Harjot Singh Bains, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Aman Aroa, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal etc. as the chairs of various sessions and MP Sandeep Pathak, Balbir Singh Seechewal etc will also deliberate on various issues to find potential and sustainable solutions.
