Chandigarh: After the spurring success story of ‘Configurational Coordinates of Women’s Space in Selected Novels of Shashi Deshpande’ and ‘The Priceless Petals’, Dr Ritu Kamra Kumar is back with her third book, ‘The Strokes of Solitude’. A thought-intriguing anthology of the detailed observations of life, The Strokes of Solitude was released virtually by motivational speaker and author, Vivek Atray.
While providing an insider’s view into the book, Dr Ritu shared, “The articles compiled in The Strokes of Solitude are my minute observations of life’s experiences. It is a unique expression of my thoughts which exposes the various facets of life; thereby filling my pot of learning with sublime sensibility, exalted experiences, and an emotional enthusiasm.”
She further elaborated, “These strokes of solitude have been transfixed on the canvas of this book with rainbow splash of hues portraying jocund joy, candid contemplations, lively longings, and a divine decree which is a part and parcel of human felicity, fret and fate.”
While writing may be a solitary affair, it does generate an unconditional joy that is meant to be shared with the world, and that’s how this book took birth. Ritu firmly believes that the vast canvas of life needs no outlandish colours to paint it with words, but only a keen eye to crystallize the moments.
Published by Authorspress, The Strokes of Solitude is divided into 5 sections: Kith & Kin, Myriad Musings, Woman’s Word, Academia Aesthetic and Resonant Realities, which is followed by Readers’ Reflections.
Mr. Vivek Atray while speaking on the book said, “Dr. Ritu Kumar writes with great qualities of heard and heart about life and its upheavals as well as its joys. She is a natural and gifted writer who has fine eye for detail and keen sense of observation of human behaviour and psychology. A quiet sense of wit and humour is a hallmark of her writings. My best wishes to her for her second book and we need many more ambassadors of positive thinking like Dr. Ritu Kamra Kumar in our society.”
