-Chandigarh – Academy of National Literature and Culture (ANLC) (Regd.) India organized an International Kavi Sammelan at Kala Bhawan Sector 16 Chandigarh. In which Dr. Shahzad Khan Malerkotla, Dr. Sudarshan Chauhan USA, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Nigeria and Engr. Jaspal Singh Desui Ghazal Go Canada participated along with President R.R. Gill. President R.R. Gill expressed gratitude towards Punjabi mother tongue and said that it is very important to preserve mother tongue in these times. Senior Meet President Dr. Panna Lal Mustafabadi briefly gave information about the Executive Board and the Academy. Secretary Colonel Sabdalpuri started the poetry session with Bollywood singer Surkhab’s song Guru Granth Mahan Guru which is the composition of the Academy’s UK branch secretary Ranjit Singh Rana. Ustad Narendra Hindi, Ustad Harry Bawa, Pyara Singh Rahi, Bhupendra Bekas, Amarjit Patialvi, Darshan Tiuna, Simarjit Grewal, Kesar Maan, Jagtar Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Noorpuri, Jaspal Singh Kanwal created the atmosphere by expressing poetic sentiments. Balwinder Singh Dhillon recited some parts of poet Shah Mohammad’s composition Jangnama…. Ratna Babakwala, Sagar Bhuria, Dhyan Singh Kahlo, poetess Kavita and Rakhi also performed brilliantly. Compositions of Indrajit, Gurmeet Singh, Harjit Singh and songs of Gurmukh Papi along with Lucky Gurdaspuri Bhangra maestro Narendra Nindi and Dramatic maestro Kuldeep Bhatti and Advocate Harjit Singh Minhas took the Kavi Sammelan to its zenith.
Dr. Shahzad Khan, Dr. Sudarshan Chauhan and Advocate G.S. Mann also addressed the gathering. Engr Jaspal Singh Desui impressed everyone by singing his ghazal and appreciated the Sammelan. Dr. Kuldeep Singh Canada appealed to engage the academy in social work.
