The country is facing its worst time as compared to last year situation , as death rates are increasing day by day and shortage of oxygen hospital beds and the anti-viral drug Remdesivir used in the treatment of Covid is rising .Many people are held for illegal sale of Remdesivir drug at higher rates to loot people who are in need of this drug. Today the country recorded the highest spike in covid cases surpassing the previous record of of 2,97,430 cases by the United States in January, news agency Reuters reported. India recorded 3.14 lakh cases with 159,30,965 active cases in the country and 2104 deaths in a day. No other country has recorded this surge in cases and deaths in a day.
On the other hand central Govt has assured that supply of oxygen and beds is being monitored 24/7 and Govt has increased the quota for all States who were in need of oxygen shortage. As cases are increasing day by day and the second wave of pandemic is yet to peak says center , experts are not sure when will the cases start to decline .
Many states are announcing restrictions bases on the cases coming dayily and Maharashtra is the worst hit state in this second wave of pandemic .Bengaluru recorded 23558 cases and 116 deaths today with 1.76 lakh active cases and Maharashtra recorded 67000 cases and 568 death since last 24 hours. Thackrey govt has announced Covid curb in their state. As per restrictions only essential services and medical vehicles will be allowed to go. Those who are allowed to travel in this time will have to quarantine themselves for 14 days when reaching their place.
